Kamilla Kinard, BFA
Dance Teacher
Kamilla’s approach to movement is shaped by a lifelong exploration of dance, circus arts, creativity, and human potential. With a BFA in Dance from the University of Illinois, she has trained and performed in modern dance, aerial arts, acrobatics, and circus disciplines ranging from acrobalance and stilting to unicycling and juggling. Her experiences as a performer, choreographer, and teacher have cultivated a deep appreciation for movement as both an artistic expression and a practice of building strength, resilience, awareness, and confidence in the body.
Kamilla believes that movement is one of the most powerful forms of lifelong care we can offer ourselves. Her philosophy emphasizes developing a body that is strong without unnecessary tension, powerful yet fluid, and capable of responding with ease and intelligence to the demands of daily life. She is especially interested in mobility, coordination, efficiency, and our relationship with gravity—whether that means moving gracefully in and out of the floor, exploring momentum and improvisation, or learning to meet physical challenges with curiosity rather than fear. She strongly believes that movement is a pathway to deeper connection with ourselves, others, and the world around us.
Kamilla has taught creative dance to children, assisted aerial instruction, co-led movement classes for people with Parkinson’s Disease, taught children with impaired movement, and designed playful movement experiences through dance and circus camps. Her teaching style blends curiosity, challenge, and accessibility, inviting students of all backgrounds to discover new ways of moving while cultivating greater strength, coordination, and embodied awareness.
Her current work through KaMotion Lab draws on the worlds of dance, Pilates, yoga, circus training, and functional conditioning to create dynamic classes that are both challenging and joyful. Inspired by her experiences cycling around the world, social and partner dances, and her ongoing creative work as a writer and artist, Kamilla believes movement is a lifelong adventure—a way to explore our capabilities, cultivate resilience, and bring more play into everyday life.
